2008 series can now be watched on this site

Video recordings by the ABC have now been embedded in this website for each debate in the 2008 series. Visit the page for each event in the 2008 series event to view the recording of that event.

Season packagage for 2009 season now available

For the 2009 season we have a great season ticket package which includes:

  • A guaranteed seat for all seven debates at $175 for the season (full price $210)
  • A complimentary glass of wine before or after the debate with the speakers
  • Preferential booking for extra ‘emergency’ debates

2009 series announced

After a very successful 2008 season, the 2009 season of seven debates promises to be even more stimulating, informative and entertaining. Outstanding speakers, comprising a panel of six for each of the debates have been or are being arranged. We’ve again chosen motions that are controversial and should again see queues at our floor debate microphones.

Debates will continue to be held at the City Recital Hall in Sydney.

2008 series concludes

The highly successful first 2008 season in IQ² Australia live debates concluded with the final debate on 29 October, which addressed the topic: Has the US lost its moral authority?
